Andrea Brown
 Andrea Brown holds a New Jersey Certification in Massage Therapy. She successfully completed the 600 hour program in June 2011. She is also enrolling in the New York program at
Cortiva Institute as well as an Oncology Massage Program being offered at the Institute for Therapeutic Massage. She is currently a member of the Associate Bodywork & Massage Professional (ABMP).
Andrea has been involved with volunteering and fundraising for several years. Some of her most recent volunteering activities included providing 10-15 minute chair massages to participants and cancer survivors for a Relay for Life event in New Jersey. She also volunteers her service as a Reiki Practitioner giving reiki to mostly cancer survivors in their Reiki Healing Circle under the Living Strong Living Well (LSLW) Program at the YMCA
in Ridgewood, NJ and she often volunteers at their healing circle on a monthly basis.
As a breast cancer survivor she has first hand knowledge on the effectiveness of conventional medicine combined with integrated therapies. She had incorporated acupuncture, reiki, massage, weight-training and yoga during and after her cancer treatments. Many of these modalities were available to the cancer community at hospitals, Gilda's Club, and the LSLW program.
Based on her experiences, Andrea has become more passionate about these healing arts. She wants to be more involved with working in a
hospital, with support groups, rehabilitation programs and/or in a hospice setting. Her goal is to work in these environments as a Reiki Practitioner or Massage Therapist where she can offer these services as well as provide information on resources available to the newly diagnosed cancer patient or cancer survivor.
